Hi All - just found this link - remember a few names - I spent many hours banging away on my typewriter chucking out daily orders to all the messes - also in my other job down in the TS making the guns go bang - the 3" was an amazing piece of gunnery history - if you remember me would be nice to hear from you all
Just found this site by accident and amazed to see Micharl (Geordie) Wallace, and Rabbitt Ohare. Served with both of you as JS and ODs on the Snakey Blake. Get in touch boys through this site????????

Noticed a comment by Andy Peal, just wondered if it was the same Andy that was on the Undaunted with myself and others? Was just browsing on behalf of my brother Barry O'hare who was onboard Blake 74, 75 ish ( field gun crew also) RGDS to all Kevan ex Sparker
I was on the far east trip when we were stuck in Singapore. Many a good run ashore in Sembiwang village, It used to amaze me how quick jenny's side pary got the ship painted!
I joined the blake in 1969-70 just before going to the far east.
she broke down in sing apore and we where there for 6 months in terror barricks ,Then on to Hong kong for a month.
Then adelaide and sydney for the anzac parade then back to cape town
then back to portsmouth wher i was drafted up to Faslane in Scotland.
I had too many good times on her..
May be she could have been saved and laid up for future to show these kids what it was like on board a war ship.
we where also on patrol off east africa to try and stop oil going to rhodesia for Ian Smith.
I hope to hear from someone some where.
send me a message on contact with which pic you would like & i will email you them
